Untouched rainforest reached by longboat up the Temburong River, with a canopy walkway above the trees. River levels decide the boat trip.
Visitor guide
Getting there
Drive from Bandar Seri Begawan over the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge to Temburong District, about 30 minutes according to Brunei Tourism. The last stretch into the park is by longboat up the Temburong River from Batang Duri.
What to do
- Walk the canopy walkway high above the rainforest.
- Jungle treks and river cruises; you may see gibbons foraging along the river at daybreak.
- Visit longhouse villages and learn about the culture of Borneo’s peoples.
The weather here
Rain upstream raises the Temburong River and can change how the longboats run, and the canopy steps and boardwalks are slippery when wet. Start early: the forest is coolest and quietest in the morning.
Good to know
- The park protects about 550 square kilometres (50,000 hectares) of rainforest in the south of Temburong District.
- Temburong is a separate part of Brunei that borders Sarawak; the bridge lets you reach it without crossing the Malaysian border.
- Confirm access and the current opening times with Brunei Tourism or your tour operator before you go.
